IPTV for Hotels in Oman.
Broadway Technologies is a hotel IPTV provider in Oman. We design, install and support IPTV systems for hotels and resorts, from signal reception and the IP headend to the guest interface on every in-room TV.
Based in Ruwi, Muscat, we support hotels across Oman. Whether you are fitting out a new property or upgrading an existing TV system, we build around your channel line-up, your guests and your network, with remote and on-site AMC support.
What is an IPTV system for hotels?
An IPTV system for hotels delivers television channels, video on demand and interactive hotel services to guest rooms over the hotel's IP network, instead of a separate one-way TV cable network. Content is received and converted at a central headend, managed by middleware, and shown on each room's smart TV.
Because every room has its own interface, the in-room TV can greet guests by name, show channels in their language, carry hotel information and let them stream from their own devices. For the hotel, one network and one management platform replace separate TV distribution and information systems.
Hotel IPTV system in Oman: what is included
We supply and install every layer of the system, so one team is responsible from the dish to the TV.
Signal reception
We install and align satellite dishes and set up the signal sources your channel line-up needs.
IP headend
The headend receives signals from multiple sources and converts them into IP streams for your network.
IPTV server and middleware
The IPTV server and middleware store hotel information, organise channels and services, and present them to guests on the in-room TV. Your logo, colours, languages and menus are configured here. For the software layer in detail, see our page on IPTV middleware and PMS integration on the IPTV Software.
Network and cabling
We define the network requirements with your IT team or network contractor: a dedicated VLAN for IPTV traffic, multicast support, switch capacity, and PoE where set-top boxes are used. We supply the cabling, connectors and power components the installation needs.
In-room endpoints
Guests watch on hospitality smart TVs or IP set-top boxes, depending on the TVs in your rooms and your budget. We confirm compatibility during the site survey.
Hotel IPTV solutions: guest features
Branded Welcome Screen
Greet and welcome each guest by name with a personalised, branded TV experience.

HOTEL IPTV INTEGRATION
Hotel IPTV PMS integration
Connecting the IPTV system to your PMS ties the in-room TV to the front desk. A guest's name and language can appear on the welcome screen at check-in, and guest settings can be cleared at check-out. Where your hotel sells pay-per-view or premium content, charges can post to the room folio. The software side of this integration is covered on our IPTV software page.

How a hotel IPTV system works on your network
Most hotel IPTV faults trace back to the network rather than the TVs, so network design comes first. These are the points we settle with your IT team before anything is installed:
Multicast delivery. Live channels are normally sent as multicast streams. The headend sends each channel once, and the network passes it only to the TVs tuned to it, so load follows the number of channels, not the number of rooms.
Managed switching with IGMP. Multicast needs managed switches with IGMP snooping and a correctly configured querier. Unmanaged switches can flood every port and cause stuttering pictures.
A dedicated VLAN. IPTV traffic runs on its own VLAN, separate from guest internet and back-of-house traffic, with QoS where the design calls for it.
Bandwidth sizing. As a rough example, a 100-channel HD line-up at about 6 Mbps per channel needs around 600 Mbps from the headend to the core switch, while each room needs a single stream. Real figures depend on the encoder settings.
Power for set-top boxes. Where set-top boxes are used, PoE switches can power them over the same cable.
Casting and Wi-Fi. Casting runs over the hotel's wireless network and needs room-level separation, so each guest reaches only their own TV. We size the wireless side for it during design.
Resilience and monitoring. Larger properties can add headend redundancy and monitoring, so faults are caught before guests report them.
New hotel project or IPTV upgrade?
The right approach depends on whether your IPTV hotel project in Oman is a new build or an existing property. New properties are the best moment to plan IPTV, because cabling, headend space and network design are easiest to get right before the walls close.
New hotel projects
We work with developers, MEP and ELV consultants and main contractors to define IPTV cabling and outlet locations, headend room size, rack space and power, network and VLAN requirements, and the IPTV technical specification and bill of quantities.
Upgrading an existing hotel
We survey your current TV setup, cabling and network, then recommend what can stay and what needs replacing. In occupied hotels, the rollout can be phased by floor or block to limit disruption.
Hotel IPTV installation in Oman: how a project runs
IPTV installation for hotels works best when it starts with a site survey and a clear brief. This is how we run a project:
Requirements and site survey.
Room count, channel needs, existing TVs, cabling and network.
System design and proposal.
Channel plan, headend, middleware, network and endpoints, with a clear scope.
Supply.
Equipment specified for your property.
Installation.
Dishes, headend, cabling and in-room endpoints.
Configuration and branding.
Middleware, guest interface, channel line-up by language and PMS interface.
Testing and handover.
Room-by-room checks and hotel staff training.

Hotel IPTV support and AMC in Oman
A hotel TV system has to work every night, so we back installations with remote and on-site AMC support. An agreement can cover system checks, fault response, software updates and spare parts.
See our IPTV AMC support page for contract options.
How to choose a hotel IPTV supplier in Oman
Ask for brand names and the name of the support team.
An interface that works in one hotel is not guaranteed in yours, so ask for a similar reference.
How is casting kept private between rooms and cleared at check-out?
VLANs, multicast, PoE and bandwidth. A supplier who cannot answer will cause surprises later.
How are channels handled?
What does the AMC cover, and how fast is the response?
Will the system work with our brand standards and TV models?
Can we speak to a hotel with a similar system?

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about hotel IPTV installation in Oman.
How does a hotel IPTV system work?
Signals from satellite and other sources reach a central headend, which converts them to IP streams. The middleware organises channels and hotel services, and the hotel network carries them to each room's smart TV or set-top box.
What is the best hotel IPTV system for a hotel in Oman?
The right system depends on your room count, channel requirements, existing TVs and network, PMS compatibility, and ongoing support needs. A site survey helps identify a suitable solution for your property.
How is IPTV different from traditional hotel TV?
IPTV delivers television and interactive services over an IP network. Hotels can provide room-specific interfaces, language-based channel lists, welcome messages and additional guest services.
Can guests cast content from their phones to the TV?
Yes. Guests can cast content from compatible phones to the room TV using a supported hospitality casting solution.
Can hotel IPTV integrate with our PMS?
Yes, where the PMS supports a compatible interface. Integration can enable personalised welcome screens, language settings, check-out clearing and billing for paid content.
Can we keep our existing smart TVs?
In many cases, yes. Compatibility depends on the TV make, model and software. Some TVs support IPTV directly, while others require an IP set-top box. We confirm this during the site survey.
Which TV channels can our hotel offer guests?
Your channel line-up depends on the satellite and commercial subscriptions your hotel holds. Channels can be organised by language and category, subject to the relevant viewing and distribution rights.
How much does hotel IPTV cost in Oman?
Pricing depends on room count, channels, TV endpoints, features, network readiness and maintenance requirements. We provide a project-specific quotation after assessing your property. Share your room count and whether it is a new build or an upgrade to get started.
How long does hotel IPTV installation take?
The schedule depends on room count, building occupancy, network readiness and project scope. We provide an installation schedule as part of the project proposal.
Do you work with hotel consultants and contractors?
Yes. We coordinate with developers, MEP and ELV consultants, and main contractors on IPTV cabling, headend space, network requirements and project specifications.
